The Business Case For Strengths

Next Generation Training & Coaching

We're often asked, "What sets your training apart from other programs on the market?"

To answer that I frequently begin with a short "success" history lesson covering the last hundred years or so.

Universal Training

Success training began with universal principles. Trainers like Napoleon Hill and Dale Carnegie interviewed the successful people of the early 1900's and reported their findings. They shared the thoughts and ideas of successes like Henry Ford and Thomas Edison. Out of that we got universal ideas like the importance of goal setting and having a positive mental attitude. I do a talk on ten or so of these success principles called "Bringing Your "A" Game". Each of these principles are as valid and important today as when Hill and Carnegie began writing about them nearly 100 years ago.

Sales Training

Not long after the universal training programs came out, generic motivational sales trainers began releasing sales specific applications of the universal training. Speakers like Zig Ziglar took this type of training to it's peak in the 1970's and 1980's. The training was inspirational and helpful for sales people of all industries.

Industry Specific Sales Training

In the 1990's and 2000's we began to see sales training get much more industry specific. Tom Hopkins offered real estate specific training and you see people like Tom Ferris offering it today. The advantage was and is that you would get specific ideas that have worked successfully in your exact industry. Industry specific models were identified and implemented.

Individualized Strength Based Training

As you can see, we are getting more and more specialized. Our highly individualized "STRENGTHSPATH" training and coaching affirms most all of the principles gathered from the first 3 generations and adds a 4th generation. In fact, we actually believe we are integrating a new foundation or core that tweaks and colors all the principles from previous generations.

Our next generation training and coaching helps you identify your own very unique "STRENGTHSPATH" in your industry. We help you discover your individual "Success Print" and capitalize on it. We help you identify your unique "Contributive or Performance Advantage" and leverage it in your industry.

Everything we do takes into consideration the largest study of human performance ever undertaken. The Gallup Organization undertook a 30 year study interviewing over 2 million successful individuals including realtors and numerous other professions. Each of the over 2 million interviews was conducted with open ended questions and lasted approximately 1.5 hours. The interviews were then transcribed, resulting in over 5 million pages. Scientists then poured over the transcripts looking for patterns. Over 400 innate talents or patterns of thought, feeling and behavior emerged from this study. Many of the talents were very specialized and not very useful for the average individual. Talents like "elongated time" found in top professional athletes were set on the shelf because most of us don't need it. After the pairing process a couple hundred talent threads remained and they were organized into 34 talent themes where they were commonly found naturally grouped together in human beings. From all that work an talent/strengths assessment called STRENGTHSFINDER was born.

For the last decade, a case can be made that Dolly Lenz is the number one realtor in the U.S. Her career sales volume exceeds 7 billion dollars with yearly income estimated at 9 to 10 million. Building on the above success thinking we would identify what Dolly Lenz does, create a model, and implement it on a daily basis.

You could learn a lot from that strategy. But at the end of the day we have a problem. You aren't Dolly Lenz. You have a unique set of innate talents, aptitudes, and abilities that can be applied to real estate. The "STRENGTHSPATH" Strategy is to help you clearly discover your unique performance edge, learn to describe it in compelling language that will attract more listings, develop it with complimentary skills and knowledge, and then deliver it in the marketplace.

And that can begin in the next few weeks with a complimentary coaching session.
